Our Mission
Belfast Mechanical Services Inc., owned and operated by David Cowan, opened its doors in Trenton, Ont. in April of 2016 as a full-service repair shop for Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services.
A successful first year led David to expand his operations and, in June 2017, Belfast Mechanical opened its doors to additional fleet maintenance and the public.

David Cowan, Owner
Originally from Northern Ireland, David came to Canada as a young child with his family in the 1970s and it was in Centre Hastings that he discovered his love of working with his hands.
David started fixing vehicles in high school, and became an automotive machinist working at Belleville CARQUEST. He later moved to Toronto and worked with Toromont Caterpillar, then became a licensed technician in automotive, truck and coach repair.

He has worked in the Quinte area for the last 25 years repairing vehicles and has developed great relationships with farmers, trades people and the public.
​
He has been repairing Hastings Quinte Paramedics Services vehicles for more than 20 years.
Sheldon Johansen
Sheldon joined Belfast Mechanical in May 2017.
From Madoc, he has spent the majority of his 35-year career as an automotive technician in the Quinte area.
